Mann Ke Moti
Review 1st
Sooraj Ki gathrhi kholay tou ander raat hai roti,
Hr ik dard ki kismat mein hai kb asaani hoti..!!
When I started watching Mann Ke Moti for review I just realized that I’ve watched a number of plays and reviewed so many episodes that unintentionally I’ve started integration and comparing characters and plots of different Pakistani plays. Promos of Mann Ke Moti reminded me of “Maye Ni”
On the serious note Original Sound Track of this play inclined me more than it’s visuals. Still a different story wraped up with childrens’ struggle that has never seen on television screens before.

While watching first episode of Mann Ke Moti I felt myself completely in trance of that completely other world. Nadeem Siddique, director of the serial says “mainy aik puri zindagi jee li is dramy ko krty hueay!” and after watching first episode I wholly agree with him. Kifayat Rodani holds ownership of expressing different emotions of masses in a very simple and ordinary way and that is what makes him special.
Episode started with fajr prayers scene and I was deeply engrossed in it. Everything was so clear in terms of introducing characters and plot development. I was surprised to see plot developing in first episode going with appropriate pace. We now know that Raheel is the onlybread earner and belongs to a middle class family and has four children. He lives with his widowed mother and two sisters and is responsible for their bread too after death of his father. He is shown as a responsible son, devoted father and loving husband. Yasra Rizvi is indeed perfect choice for her role as she keeps an expressive attitude and speaks via her eyes. So we also know that Saasu Maa is not happy with her daughter in law and leaves no choice in blaming her brought up too. I laughed where daadi jaan does not allow herself to depart her grand children with prayers and best wishes but for her own son and daughters she is so humble and caring.
Other than domestic issues presented in play few serious issues like poverty situation in our country and its impact on society, people going abroad in search of better future and increasing frustration among individuals are also shown. Poverty has been one of the biggest problems that Pakistan faces today. It is rightly said that poverty anywhere is a threat to prosperity everywhere. According to Homer, “This is misery! The last, the worst that man can feel”. Raheel decides to go abroad in search of better furure for his family because things are out of control for him now and he can’t see his family living life of under-rated people. Episode first ended with the scene where Raheel is trying to convince his mother and wife. It seems like his wife is going to agree soon but Ammi Jaan is not in a mood to allow him to do so. Asma Abbas is so perfect choice for this role and I like her performance particularly where she starts cursing her grand children and their mother and saying “sab sy km wazan saas bechari ka hota hai” Lol..
“Mann Ke Moti” is all about emotions and ground realities of life that we see around us everyday. This is the life we live and talk about. Children are focused more than anything else and Kudos to the writer , director and entire cast for bringing this script into life and for bringing the real actors from children. Zohaab is my most favorite among them and girl playing role of ‘Gurhya” is also worth noticing. In terms of direction, episode was superb. I have started a trip to Mann Ke Moti’s journey and first ride was intriguing and definitely I’m looking forward for more. Dialogue-wise it was as interesting as I enjoyed visuals. Background music was spot on and much appreciation to the editor too J Child starts all did a fairly good job and I must confess here that I’m a huge fan of Zohaab now. This anokha ladla must have a great role in the play and I wish Yasra Rizvi’s this Noor e Nazar keeps his impression on all of us. Dialogue of the day is “Jadu Nhe Hai Mery paas!” Certainly thought provoking one!
Preview of next episode suggests that children are trying to stop their father by proposing their small and innocent wishes. Let us just hope that Raheel may live with his family but again he is justified too. I’m feeling sympathy for Fariha as to whom she is going to get support now? And what about children will they be able to stop their father? Or they will have to bear Daadi’s curses again for a long time?
