Mann Ke Moti
Combined Review of Episode 2 and 3
Dukh hein choron jesay hoty band khirhki sy aey..!
Mann Ke Moti unquestionably leaves me in such a shock that I have to give myself a shake before writing review. Episode second started with Kids getting news of their father’s decision and Zara on the other hand gets some ground realities from her sister in terms of “agar khudanakhuasta kuch hogaya tou hamein un k bachon ki aah lgy ge”. I don’t know why but I feel rejection from Zara’s personality. She is surrounded with negative energy that she reveals through her behavior towards everybody. I remember her behavior with Guddu about toilet issue and I still remember her behavior towards Fariha and what she thinks about Raheel. Nasreen alerts Raheel and tries her best to persuade him about changing his decision but Raheel is clear to do so. Kids are trying to stop their father but fate has written something else in their lives. Second episode unveiled another shade of Nasreen’s character and I found her so caring and soft hearted person. While watching Mann Ke Moti, every time I came across the scenes where kids pack their bags early morning before going to school, I feel so annoyed that why don’t they pack before going to their bed? Fariha is no doubt a loving and caring mother but acha hota agr wo bachon ko sikhatin k bags raat ko pack kr k sona hai
We also got to know that Ahmed informs Raheel that he has to leave within three days and Family enjoys these days together as much as they could. Raheel brings gifts for everybody and wants to make most of these precious moments. He also makes Fariha understand that she will be taking care of his family in his absence and gives her a locket having their pictures locked in it. Fariha and Nasreen were in great pain and I could feel their pain right on their faces. Nasreen was epic in saying “Maa hun na..Dil sambhalny mein thorha waqt tou lgega!”  The most heart wrenching moments of second episode were Good Bye moments where Faisal Qureshi and Yasra Rizvi demonstrated the message so well and made me reminded of Shelley’s saying “Unheard melodies are sweeter than heard ones”  And here starts the journey of loneliness and tragedy!

Music has been part of every known human society. It has a significant effect on the human brain, both in terms of its development and the reactions it can elicit in people. Music is essentially a form of language that allows people to communicate with each other and share experiences. Music affects all of us in some way or the other. It also is the most common interest of many people. It can transport us to another time or place and it is a great feeling of seeing or doing or experiencing something different. Wait a minute.. Let me clear the reason why I’m so much concerned about music today is that the musical effects being portrayed in Mann Ke Moti’s third episode were so damn strong that I couldn’t stop myself. Kudos to the musician and editors for such an immense job!
Episode third started with Ahmed’s news that Raheel is in Iran now but they are having some difficulties and they need prayers. Fariha’s reaction over news was so natural and the way she locks the door and rushes towards Mother in law to deliver the news shows how much she cares for her and then there is somebody to share her happiness and pain. She takes care of Nasreen just like Raheel used to do by keeping water for her before going to sleep. Their conversation, their expressions, and the way the realization dawns on Zara and Nasreen was endearing at best.
Doing parental tasks and sharing the responsibilities requires certain skills. One has to take initiative and know all the needs of family. Fathers at home generally do things with equal efforts similar to their work. Its not just they take care about their kids but also their wives… that was all about Raheel’s love and care towards his family that made Fariha compel to substitute him. And then comes the news of Raheel’s death.. One of life’s most difficult challenges is facing death of a loved one. The time that immediately follows the death of a loved one can be very distressing. Bereavement is something that we all experience at some stage of our lives, but not often; therefore we do not get much opportunity to learn how to deal with it. Everybody reacts differently to the loss of someone close. Maulana Sahab was indeed a great support to Nasreen’s family after the news of Raheel’s death. His words “yeh dunya faani hai.. aur maut kisi bhi haal mein aani hy” are still echoing in my mind. The last option for everybody in this kind of situation is usually to pray “O God! Teach me to live without him/her” and that’s what Nasreen does.
The thing that I liked a lot in this serial is that strong family bonding is being shown at that moment when we need it the most. Leo Tolstoy exposed our common response on death of someone in his “The Death of Ivan IIyich” by saying “It is he who is dead, not I” And I was calm down to see the reaction of this family. That completely shows humanity is still alive.. Yes I am a lady of optimistic approach
After effects of Raheel’s death have been started now and Nasreen is back on her cruelty again. I hated her when she gave money to her own daughters for lunch but not to kids and I found it very strange why the hell Zara accepts this kind of behavior? What is the use of her being religious old lady? Hypocrisy is a sinful disease indeed. Gurhya steals money from Falak’s bag and brings bread and egg for her breakfast and Daadi jaan pays her back for this stupidity. So we now know that the bread earner is dead and family is facing the consequences’. Instead of protecting against these kinds of acts Kia he acha hota agr fariha bachon ko sabr aur bardasht krna sikha dein! I’m just waiting for that.
Coming to my favorite scene, well it is hard to decide one single scene from larger-than-life serial but scene where Fariha put off her bangles and cries was top notch. The scene where Guddu misses his father and cries while watching his picture was first-class too. In the morning when Fariha brings egg role for Guddu was heart touching positively! By the way I liked that “Murgha” too :) brilliant direction and excellent cinematography.. What to say about dialogues jo already itny powerful hein k main apny ansuon py qaboo na rakh ski. Kifayat Rodani you rock!

Overall, this was a lovely episode with a blend of emotions, reflections and of course, a fine message for the audience to understand the uncertainty of life. The chemistry between all the characters has been excellent throughout but in this particular episode, it was perfect. Dialogue of the day was“Kamany wala mard hota hai….. Tou kia main bhi mar jaunga?” Once again, kudos to the entire team of Mann Ke Moti.. A&B Productions, Erum Binte Shahid, the cast, the technical team, everyone! Stay tune to Geo Tv and keep visiting our face book official page for latest updates.
Stay Blessed
